A Success!!

The weather may not have cooperated, but the residents of this community did.  They braved the dropping temperatures and increasing wind velocity to support the local Boys & Girls Club of Zebulon.

The mood was set once they arrived indoors opened by Boys dressed in tuxedos that were donated for the event.  Musicians were playing softly behind the lively conversations as neighbors and friends mingled , looking at the art and furnishings up for auction, deciding what would suit their home the best.  In each of the three custom built homes, there was also something to munch on from the bacon wrapped shrimp, parboiled asparagus spears, fresh fruit, imported cheeses and even chocolate dipped strawberries.  Yummy.

As the evening came to a close, the bids increased.  The reason for the event is to raise awareness and money for the club so that they can get closer to building a new Facility in Zebulon.  Thank you to all of our sponsors and helpers, artists and local businesses that contributed time, items for sale or know how.  I'm proud that I was able to head up and organize such an event with the help of Steve Bock and Cindy Privette.  We are able to raise over $8500 with our first event and I hope to double that amount at next years event.
